Sophia Pega

Born in Menorca in 1990, Sophia Pega is a visual artist whose work focuses on figurative and symbolic painting and drawing. Attracted by the imaginary and the souls inherent in the spaces, elements and relationships that surround her, she explores the tenuous line between the earthly and the magical.

Through symbolic iconography, Sophia constructs dreamlike worlds that seem to tell stories. She also has a fondness for photography and written journals, which help to support her work.

For the frescoes at the Hotel Le Grand Mazarin, Sophia navigates between naturalistic, dreamlike and astrological worlds. Through the ajar of a door or window, the artist invites us into her world, a world where every detail calls up a memory, a dream. This key and its padlock, these fantastical animals or the eternal stars that light up her creations, are the elements Sophia chooses to draw us into her daydream.

alexandre benjamin navet

Art director, set designer, designer... Alexandre-Benjamin Navet is a multi-talented artist - a brilliant draughtsman whose naïve, brightly-colored strokes most often feature a collection of ceramics staged in a theatrical setting: "My first relationship with color was a gift. I received a box of pencils when I was very young and used them directly on the walls of my home. I was given the freedom to add touches, shades and hues...".

In summer 2017, he won the Grand Prix du Jury at the Toulon Design Parade with "Imajaghan, pièce à vivre", a set created alongside Paul Brissonnet , creating an environment of pure inspiration for sleeping designers. Based in Paris, Alexandre Benjamin maintains a privileged relationship with the South, which nourishes his sunny, iodized visual universe. His powerful flat tints of pure color naturally echo the Moderns and the work of Henri Matisse. Volumes are simplified, shaped by strong contrasts of light and shadow: "I've always loved the sensation of colors that don't juxtapose but meet like so many tonalities. I use orange for its warmth, yellow for its intensity, blue for its depth... All these colors intervene as independent protagonists, entering in turn into the composition of the drawing."

Japanese watercolor, oil pastel and pencil are the artist's three favorite techniques, and he expresses himself both on paper and on a human scale, creating site-specific installations such as those created during his residencies at Villa Noailles and Hermès Paris (Sèvres - Georges V). These projects are intensified by the unsettling interplay of perspective and depth that he delivers in the course of his artistic adventures: Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris, Maison Baccarat, Art Brussels 2019, Hôtel de Crillon...
