"The approach here is very similar to the collector mindset, who favours a small number of artists whose works he or she likes to own (...) You are surrounded by this collection, which you discover piece by piece" - Amélie du Chalard
In the heart of Paris's 6th arrondissement, at 29 rue de Buci, this chic and discreet boutique hotel opened its doors in the spring of 2023. The beautifully restored Haussmann-style façade sets the tone with its stonework, multi-story balconies, and ornate details. In collaboration with Bruno Borrione, we created the artistic universe of this place. The collection features works from eleven contemporary French artists who created original pieces specifically to adorn the hotel’s walls. Among them are painters Frédéric Heurlier Cimolai and Virginie Hucher, multimedia artist Florence Grundeler, and architect and painter Ludovic Philippon. Each has a unique artistic language, yet they all share a common focus on geometric abstraction, playing with textures and colors.
The curation is generous, with many large-format pieces—each room boasts one or two monumental works, which is rare. The selection was meticulously curated with custom commissions, allowing the artists complete creative freedom. This collection is complemented by works on paper, objects, and art books, both modern and old, to perfect this distinctive decor.
